Spring 2024 Georgia Tech Tour Guide Application

    Thank you for your interest in becoming an official Georgia Tech Tour Guide for spring 2024! Campus tours operate out of the Cypress Theatre located in the John Lewis Student Center. The admission office cannot fully operate without the amazing time and effort the tour guides put into assisting visiting families.

    ** Application closes on Monday October 23, 2023, at 11:59 pm**

    Prior to completing the application, all prospective applicants should take a moment to become familiar with the following expectations & requirements expected of each member of the Tour Guide organization.

    General Georgia Tech Tour Guide Requirements:

    • Must commit to a minimum of two semesters (alternating semesters for a co-op or students studying abroad).
    • Must be a current GT undergraduate student 
    • Must be in good academic standing.
    • Must be enrolled at Tech through at least Fall 24
    • Must demonstrate excellent communication skills.
    • Must be adaptable and able to market Tech to a wide variety of visitors (prospective students, faculty, alumni, etc.)
    • Must demonstrate a positive, enthusiastic attitude and strong customer service/interpersonal skills.
    • Must be able to commit fully to responsibilities and represent the Institute in a professional, positive manner.
    • Must be available to attend the scheduled mandatory new tour guide training sessions
    • Attend biweekly scheduled tour guide general body meetings (Mondays @ 6:15 p.m.)

    Georgia Tech Tour Guide Requirements:

    • Must be available to give 1-2 campus tours per week
      • 11:15 am-1:00 pm ( AM tour time)
      • 2:00 pm - 3:45 pm ( PM tour time)
    • Admitted Student Campus Tours
      • Select dates from 9:45 am- 11:15 am
    • Paid $10/hr. ($20/tour)
    • Staffing Admissions Special Events (In-person & virtual)
    • Must be available to attend the mandatory new spring 23 tour guide training- Dates/times TBA

    General Expectations for Georgia Tech  Tour Guides

    1. Tour Guides serve as information resources and friendly representatives of Georgia Tech for visiting families, faculty, staff, and students.
    2. Tour Guides are expected to arrive 15 minutes prior to their tour times each week 
    3. Each week during their tour times, Tour Guides should be prepared to either give a tour or help in the office.
    4. Tour Guides are expected to look polished and professional by adhering to the Tour Guide Dress Code.
